Dr. Shamika Ghaisas

I love to describe myself as an eye specialist by profession and an I specialist by passion.

For the longest time, I have been on a quest. A quest to find the truth. My own truth. I tried to find answers from all things around, both living, and non-living.  But while their answers were true, it seldom quenched my thirst completely. I finally found solace when I found my ultimate teacher: life. When I surrendered to this teacher, knees hitting the floor and head bowed down, all my answers began to emerge, one after another. And thus began this beautiful journey of rediscovering and reconnecting with my authentic self. And since then, there has been no looking back.

I am a medical doctor, an eye specialist by profession. My medical education provides me a sound foundation of the understanding of how the body works, both in health and disease, upon which I have built my therapy skills. During my medical career and owing to my own observations and experiences, the link between the mind and body started becoming more and more apparent to me and I decided to dedicate myself to exploring this further. I then started educating myself on various modalities of mind body medicine and this is where I started training as an integrated clinical hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy training from EKAA institute (formerly- California Hypnosis Institute of India) provided me a very structured framework to explore the realm of the mind. My training in somatic psychotherapy has further deepened this understanding of the mind body link. I work with a trauma informed approach and ever open to learning and constantly expanding my horizons further. I have a keen interest in “trauma” and have been studying its profound impact in shaping many aspects of our lives, including our health, relationships, and overall well-being.

I look at our problems, conflicts, and diseases as pointers, pointing to something that is not aligned in our systems. I firmly believe that we are all our own healers and our lives and bodies have much more capacity to heal than we give them credit for. It is my endeavor to help individuals by being a compassionate companion and guide to finding their own path to alignment and restore the inherent balanced state of their mind and body thereby helping them to walk their greatest and highest path.

Note: I do not give medical advice in the therapy space and you are requested to consult appropriate specialists for the same.
